Well, we have made it to the 38 week mark, and it looks like baby Addison is going to stay put just a bit longer. At my doctor's appointment on Wednesday, my doctor said everything looks good so far. My cervix has thinned a little, but as of Wednesday, I was not dilated at all and the baby's head was still pretty high. My blood pressure was great, I had actually lost a few pounds (shocker), and so far, I have not had to deal with any swelling. I am starting to feel a little pressure when I stand or walk for a while, but I don't think the baby has officially "dropped" yet. My only real complaint at this point is that it is getting harder and harder to get a good night's sleep. Between the bathroom breaks and the waking up at 4 am, I am a little sleep deprived. (Probably not nearly as sleep deprived as I am going to be, though)!
If things continue to go well, my next appointment is Monday, December 3rd. If my due date comes and goes with no baby, my doctor will let me go 1 week past before inducing, which is fine with me. I am not completely uncomfortable (yet), and I would just as soon baby Addison come when she is ready rather than trying to rush things.

30 Days and Counting
Usually by this time of year, I am counting down the days until Christmas. This year, I haven't really given Christmas the first thought... Instead, I am counting the days until baby Addison arrives. Only 30 days left! The countdown is REALLY on now. Where has the time gone? It seems like the Easter bunny was just here delivering the BIG news to Craig. Ready or not, I think baby Addison is on her way for sure!

35 Weeks
AND STILL NO FURNITURE! This is about to make me completely crazy, but I am extremely hopeful that my furniture will be here this week or next. I guess it's a good thing I ordered everything in AUGUST. Evidently, baby Addison's crib is on a boat in the middle of the ocean somewhere. A lot of good that is going to do us if our little jelly bean decides to come early. Seems that it is coming from Romania, and it just so happens that the contact person from the warehouse in NJ is in Romania right now. So, until he returns to the states with an update for us, I guess we'll just keep hoping for some great news.
I have spent several nights this week doing what I can to prepare for baby Addison's arrival. I have washed, folded, put away and organized what I can without the furniture. The upstairs still looks like a bomb went off, but things are looking a little better. I have started packing my bag for the hospital (just need to get a few more things) and have packed Addison's sweet little bag. The handpainted letters for the nursery came in this week, and I just love them! I would go ahead and hang them except I am not sure exactly where to hang them without the furniture. The curtains also came in, and I think my friend Amy is bringing the curtain rods, finials and hardware next weekend so we can hang those. We are getting so close to having a nursery...
As for the baby, she continues to remind me that she is there. While she doesn't seem to move as frequently as she did a few weeks ago, when she does move, I definitely notice. The "taps" are now jabs and kicks. Last night, there was something big (must have been a knee or a leg) pushing the side of my stomach out. It was too funny. And too cool.
My next appointment is next Thursday. After that appointment, I'll be going weekly instead of every two weeks. Hard to believe the weekly visits are almost here.

The Name Game

The name game is finally over! For months, we have been wavering between 3 names, and we finally made a decision last week. Let the monogramming begin!
Week 34 Update
Happy Halloween!
39 days to go... I cannot BELIEVE we only have 39 days until our due date! We had our 34 week update yesterday, and everything looks great! It appears as if the baby has turned and is now head down. This could explain why when she moves, it feels like someone is playing the drums on the left side of my stomach. I'm not sure if her arms or legs are on my left side, but something is definitely there. I just love to feel her moving around in there. I know this is something that I am really going to miss once she makes her debut.
On the nursery front, we are kind of in a holding pattern. The nursery furniture, which I ordered in AUGUST, is still not here. As you might imagine, I am not too thrilled about this. Unfortunately, my hands are tied and there is really nothing I can do except wait... and hope that it gets here before baby Addison does. I know she can sleep in the Pack and Play, but I really want to get her nursery in order before she arrives. The glider/recliner did come in, and our friend Joey was sweet enough to pick it up for us, but it's just sitting in the middle of the room waiting for the rest of the furniture. Hopefully, the crib and the changing table will be here in the very near future.
Our next appointment is Friday, November 16th. After that appointment, our due date will be quickly approaching, and we will be going to the doctor for weekly check ups.
So that's what's new with us. We'll keep you posted of any new happenings. Until then, we'll just be waiting (patiently) for baby Addison to arrive.

Some Assembly Required!
The theme for the weekend was "some assembly required." Craig and I decided to tackle a few baby assembly projects on Saturday. We quickly learned that the instruction manuals that come with baby items are not very helpful. In fact, many of the manuals are more confusing than they are helpful. After many not so nice words, we were finally able to assemble the stroller, baby swing, vibrating papasan seat and the pack and play. The pack and play was by far the most fun. The fact that Craig was grumpy because the Gamecocks were losing did little to help our situation. (I told him that the reason they lost is because he was gloating last weekend when South Carolina beat the Tarheels).
Speaking of Tarheels, I spent weekend before last in Charleston with my childhood friend Amy and three of my best friends from NC (all of which are fellow Tarheel graduates). We spent the weekend relaxing, shopping and eating. A few of my friends that live in Charleston and the surrounding areas joined us for dinner at The Red Drum on Saturday night. I had such a wonderful time visiting with everyone, and I think we will definitely have to schedule more girl weekends in the future. Thanks to all of you for a wonderful weekend! I'm so lucky to have such great friends!

Crash, bang!
Last week began with a BANG...literally. After a very long day at work, Craig and I visited Beaufort Memorial Hospital for a Birthing Center tour last Monday evening. After the tour, we made what we thought would be a quick stop for dinner on the way home. Shortly after we ordered, our waitress asked if we were driving a black SUV, and of course, we were. Turns out that a lady stormed out of the restaurant, got in her car, put it in reverse, hit the gas pedal and BAM! slammed into the back of my car. The good news is that we were not in the car. The bad news is that she didn't stop. Seems that we were part of a hit and run accident. Luckily, there was a person outside who witnessed the accident and got a tag number for us. And to make it even better, his girlfriend knew exactly who the driver was. Long story short... the police came (finally), we filed a police report, took our dinner to go and finally made it home. We spent the remainder of the night searching the net for phone numbers and addresses for the driver of the car. Gotta love the internet! On Tuesday, my insurance agent (not the police) made a quick phone call to the driver of the other car and by the end of the week, we had a check in hand for the repairs ($1200 worth) and a week's car rental. My car is drivable, which is a good thing since the body shop cannot begin repairs until November 5th. NOT a great way to start week!
