Where there is rain, there will be sun...

On this day two years ago, my dad passed away.

On this day one year ago, we saw the love bug's heartbeat for the very first time. Funny how that works.

Addison 4.26.07

Today, I awoke to the sweet sound of Addison's voice. One coo, one sparkling smile, one warm little hug, and suddenly, everything was okay.

Addison 4.26.2008

Two years. Two very different years. What a difference a year can make.

Although Addison will never meet my dad, there will always be a part of him that lives on in her. Her heart beats twice as strong because of him. Where there is rain, there will be sun. Where there is darkness, there will be light. She is the light and the sun.

We love you daddy, and we miss you more than you will ever know. Love, your girls

On a Roll...

Guess who's rolling over! She started working on it last week, and for the most part, she can roll from back to stomach now. Sometimes, her arm gets stuck underneath her, but other times she makes it all the way over -- arm and all. The cutest thing is when she gets tired mid roll and falls asleep on her side. What a big girl! Roll, baby roll!

New "Do"

How do you like Addison's new hairstyle? If you look closely, you'll see she is sporting a mohawk!

Double Trouble

Addison has been running a fever and clearly has not felt well for a few days. When I took her to the doctor this morning, I learned that she has not one, but two ear infections. Poor little love bug. The "yuckies" have returned as well. She's very congested and has a nasty little cough again. Just when she was starting to feel better from the first round of "yuckies". The doctor prescribed a seven day course of amoxicillin.

Day One -- Addison prefers to wear her medicine. This is going to be fun! Only six more days of the pink stuff. (It's a good thing there's a little extra in the bottle).

What's This?

Addison is really beginning to explore the world around her. She loves to grab onto things and hold them. Almost every time we walk past her, whether she's asleep or awake, we'll see her little fingers clinging tightly to something. It's so neat to explore the world through the eyes (and hands) of a child. How quickly we forget the small wonders of life.

One Month, Two Months, Three Months, FOUR!

The little love bug is FOUR MONTHS old today! As I held baby Hudson in my arms this morning, I couldn't believe it has been four short months since Addison was born in the very same hospital. My, what a difference four months makes.

Addison continues to amaze Craig & I in new ways each day, and I didn't think it was possible, but she really does get cuter by the day! She has the sweetest disposition. Her smile is infectious, and those big eyes of hers light up a room like you have never seen before.
Here's what she's been up to the past month.

She had her first cold, her first cough, and she threw up on me for the first time, but she seems to be on the mend now.

She no longer likes to wear clothes. Her favorite outfit is her birthday suit -- barefoot and naked. In fact, I think she HATES to wear anything other than her diaper. She is quick to tell me & Craig this any time we try to put clothes on her.

She is very ticklish under her neck. She wiggles and giggles when you try to kiss her under her chin and neck. Too cute!

She loves her hands. She loves to lick them, slobber on them, drool on them and suck on them.

She is just starting to discover her feet. If she could get them in her mouth, I am sure she would lick them, slobber on them, drool on them and suck on them just as she does her hands.

She drools. A LOT. Although I can't see any teeth popping through her gums yet, I don't think it will be long before she is officially teething.

She is a morning person! Most days, she wakes up with a smile on her face and a coo in her voice. Such a great way to greet each day.

She loves her mom and her dad. When either of us walk in a room and talk, she turns to find us.

She can ride in her stroller like a big girl now (without sitting in her infant seat).
She's learned how to grab onto things, including my hair. She has a tight little grip and doesn't let go too easily.
She's a mover and a shaker.
And a talker!
She continues to be a great sleeper.
She's not too sure about the Exersaucer yet, but she is giving it a try.

She is (sometimes) drinking from the bottle again! I am so afraid of jinxing myself, but I share this because it is a major breakthrough for us. She makes sure to keep it on her terms, only drinking when she feels like it and drinking for anyone but me, but I'll take whatever I can get these days.

As sweet as she is, she's a little firecracker and will occasionally show her temper. Don't know where she gets the temper. Must be from her dad...It's actually pretty funny (for now). Might not be so cute when she hits the terrible twos, but for now, it makes me & Craig (and the ladies at preschool) laugh.
What a wonderful four months it has been. Addison, your daddy and I are pretty sure you hung the moon. You've made our lives complete.

Four months. So much love. So much fun.

Welcome Little One!

Congratulations to Emily & Jeremy! They welcomed Hudson Quinn Stansell at 8:02 p.m. tonight. He's a healthy boy -- 8 pounds, 4 ounces & 21 1/4" long! Mom, Dad & baby are doing great. We love you guys and can't wait to meet the little guy in the morning.

Happy Birthday Aunt Trebbi

Happy Birthday Aunt Trebbi! This birthday is sure to be like no other. Enjoy every minute of your special day. Be sure to get lots of hugs and snuggles from little Ali. We're sorry we aren't there to celebrate with you, but we'll be thinking of you today.

Love, hugs & giggles...

Craig, Nancy & Addison

And They're Off...

Our friends (and neighbors) Emily & Jeremy are off to the hospital this evening to welcome their sweet little boy! Just as we did, they will check in at 6 pm to begin the lovely induction process. Hopefully, Hudson will make his debut sometime Monday ~~ exactly four months after Addison made her debut. We wish them the best of luck and cannot WAIT to meet the newest additon to the neighborhood. (Addison already has her eye on him, you know)! Em & J, we love you guys, and we know you are going to make GREAT parents.

Update: Emily didn't have to wait until 6 pm! She began having contractions on her own this morning and has been at the hospital all afternoon. More updates to follow...

Lauren's Christening

Addison put on one of her sweet party dresses and a pair of her fancy pants to attend her first official party last night.

Our neighbors, Joey & Michelle, had their daughter Lauren Christened last night. After the beautiful ceremony, we went back to their house for an exciting evening. We enjoyed some yummy food, some cold beverages and lots of friendship.
In the middle of the party, Addison had a serious case of the giggles. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Ann, one of our other neighbors, had Addison belly laughing so hard. She's been giggling for a few weeks now, but she's never giggled that hard for such a long period of time. I wish I'd had the video camera because it was the sweetest thing. Maybe we'll have to invite Ann over for another giggle fest.
Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of Lauren's dress. Michelle & her mom, along with several other members of their family, wore the dress for their Christenings. The dress is over 100 years old! I did get several cute pictures of the girls, but Lauren had already been changed into another dress. I still can't believe that Addison & Lauren are only 11 days apart. The funny thing is that they really do resemble each other. It's really sweet because the girls are finally starting to acknowledge each other. They are just too cute!

Thanks Grices for including us in this special occasion! We had a wonderful time.

Itsy Bitsy

I'm a little behind in my posts, but I will do my best to catch up. Not only have I have been extremely busy at work, but Addison & I have also been battling the "yuckies" since last weekend. We've had stuffy noses, congestion and a terrible cough. Hopefully, we're on the mend.

Craig, Addison & I spent last weekend in Gaffney visiting Addison's itsy bitsy cousin, Ali. She's a tiny little thing, but she's doing very well and is already gaining weight. She weighed 4 lbs, 14 ounces at birth, but she already weighs almost 5 1/2 lbs. To put it in perspective, we took a picture of her beside a "light" loaf of bread. It's hard to believe she is so small. The pink dress she is wearing in the picture below is actually a babydoll dress! She makes Addison looks like a moose, but I promise Addison isn't that big. (Addison weighs 13.5 pounds).

We had so much fun trying to get pictures of the girls. As you can see, it's nearly impossible to keep the attention of a newborn and a 3.5 month old.
While we were in Gaffney, Craig's grandparents came to visit both of their great granddaughters. Addison met her great "Papa" for the first time. Nanny & Papa H. were only in town for a short visit, but it was nice to see them.I'm so happy Addison & Ali will be able to grow up together. Although we don't live in the same city, I am sure these two will have many fun filled adventures together.
