1/2 Way There!

Well, we have officially passed the 1/2 way point! On Sunday, the jelly bean made it to the 20 week mark. It's hard to believe that half the journey is behind us. Of course, I realize that the real journey begins after the bean's arrival, but at least we've made it this far. Although there have been a few minor hiccups along the way, I have truly enjoyed being pregnant. Other than feeling really tired all the time and suffering from the occasional bout of nausea, I have not had much trouble. I have been counting my blessings, too, because I know that is not always the case.

The weeks do seem to be creeping by, though. The past 20 weeks have seemingly taken a lifetime to pass. And I am sure the next 24 hours will creep by even slower. Our 20 week ultrasound appointment is tomorrow at 9:30. That is when the sonographer will perform a detailed anatomy scan, and we hope to discover if our "she" bean is still a "she" bean. I've been telling the bean that tomorrow is not the day for modesty!

I haven't really started to "look" pregnant yet, but I have noticed that my jelly bean bump is slowly starting to grow. The pants are starting to feel a little snugger than usual... I don't believe I have felt the jelly bean turning flips in there yet, but I am hoping that will happen soon. I have heard (and seen) movement on the ultrasounds, but I haven't officially felt anything just yet.

The cravings have kind of tapered off a little. My new favorite thing is Sonic's strawberry fresh fruit slush.

The jelly bean had it's first taste of Water Festival last week. Although it was way too hot to attend all activities, we did enjoy Opening Ceremony fireworks as well as Talent Night (where our friend Joey performed) and a day of boating on Saturday. The water was pretty rough on the boat ride home Saturday so I am sure the jelly bean must have felt like (s)he was on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disney!

So, this is what life looks like at the 1/2 way point. Here's to the 2nd half of the journey... May the journey be smooth, and may the ride be filled with tons of excitement (not too much, of course). Only 139 more days before we can squeeze the little bean's cheeks!!!
